CLASS B FIRE RETARDANT COATING SYSTEMS ACCORDING TO EN13501-1
Fire safety in buildings is very important. European legislation is therefore improving and further strengthening the regulations, referring directly to building materials, which must correspond to a certain fire classification. Fire retardant wood coatings combine fire protection with excellent aesthetic results. To meet the strict European standards on fire safety of building materials, OECE has developed a spray coating system that allows the transition of wooden supports from class D (typical classification of wood) to class B, required for example in public buildings. The system can be applied in the clear version or, if pigmented, as a completely covering topcoat in order to obtain perfectly harmonious safety and finishing performances. One of the fields of application of OECE fire retardant coatings is that of wall panels and carpentry elements, for which a rigorous fire resistance class is required, depending on the type and function of the building.
